Folklife Festival Descends on the National Mall

The Annual Smithsonian Folklife Festival is in full swing!  Venture down to the National Mall to immerse yourself in a sea of people and cultures.   Richard Kurin, Director of the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, calls it a “living cultural heritage exposition.”  He touts that the festival is the place not only to witness individuals of various cultures expressing their arts and traditions, but the place where visitors can ask about them.  It is no wonder that the annual festival averages between one and one and a half million visitors every year.  For the full schedule and details, visit http://www.festival.si.edu/index.aspx.
